A Few Random Thoughts on Thanksgiving
Ok, how many of us pushed back from the table, stuffed from all the food you ate, and promised to go on a diet tomorrow?
You know I finally remembered what I was truly thankful for when I saw your relatives backing out of the driveway.
The worst thing about Thanksgiving meal is having to pretend you like that weird dish your aunt brings every year. “Oh, Aunt Mildred, I just love your artichoke and spinach casserole. Can you give me the recipe?”
I had a traditional Thanksgiving. The turkey dinner, some time with the family, watching the Lions lose.
Remember the story about the first Thanksgiving – when the native Americans shared their feast with the Pilgrims? That’s what gave them the idea for the all you can eat buffet when they started opening casinos.
Does anybody know what the hell a giblet is anyway?
Here’s some sad news. You know earlier in the week President Obama pardoned the Thanksgiving Turkey. Well, yesterday he held up a 7-11 and shot the cashier.
As you know the Thanksgiving holiday is the busiest travel weekend of the year. That’s what we need, pilots sitting around the airport with more time to drink.
And of course no Thanksgiving is complete without the Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is the most attention that people have paid to balloons, since that thing happened in Colorado.
Did you see the Kirstie Alley balloon? Turns out it wasn’t a balloon. It was actually Kirstie Alley.
And of course the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. I think everyone is having a sale tomorrow. Notre Dame has even started shopping for a new head coach.
